About Barrier
Barrier Animal Healthcare was formed in 1989 and was the first company to specialise in a range of natural animal healthcare products especially for equine use. The products are entirely natural, non-toxic and are all plant derived from sustainable resources.
Barrier’s primary emphasis is on making products that work, are kind to the animal, the user and to the environment, and so the founders spent years dabbling in alternative solutions to chemicals. In the early days, Barrier’s expertise was in fly repellents and the company designed the very first non-toxic natural fly repellent, which became an instant success.
Barrier Animal Healthcare now leads the field for providing wholly different solutions to animal health and hygiene. Over the years Barrier has greatly extended its product range to include an agricultural product range especially for healthcare in cattle, sheep & poultry. In recent years Barrier have also expanded into the pet care sector having natural products for your small animal. All Barrier products are suitable for use in organic farming systems as they fall into the exempt category of products which use only plant oils as active ingredients.
