Feedmark Meadowblend Fenugreek Seeds 2.5kg (Equine)
A culinary herb often used in curries, Fenugreek seeds can be added to the feed to help stimulate a poor appetite or for picky eaters as they are very palatable, especially when used with mint. The seeds are also a source of protein and fat so can be helpful to improve body condition.Fenugreek has been found to be a flavour preferred by horses. Fenugreek seeds are stated to possess mucilaginous, demulcent and nutritive properties, and have traditionally been used to soothe gastric ulcers and digestive upset, and during convalescence to improve eating and condition. Fenugreek seeds can also be used as a poultice for superficial, uncomplicated wounds once the seeds are boiled with water, cooled, and made into a thick paste. Following parturition, Fenugreek seeds can be fed as a supplement to mares to stimulate milk flow but should not be fed to pregnant mares due to their uterus stimulating properties.
