Staying Power:

Tick Control is extremely effective, has anti-fungal properties whilst remaining gentle on the skin.

Check your animals for ticks: There are several species of tick found in the U.K. Regularly check your animals for ticks, particularly around the head, ears, legs and paws, as the presence of a tick is very uncomfortable and can lead to skin problems and disease.

Ticks:
Ticks have complicated four life stages: Egg, six-legged larva, eight-legged nymph and adult. Visible with the naked eye at all stages, they become active in spring, early summer and autumn, when temperatures are above 7'C. Ticks prefer the moisture and protection of uncultivated pasture, but can quite easily be picked up in parks and gardens. Brushed off grasses and shrubs by passing animals they spend several days as blood-sucking temporary parasites. Unable to jump or fly, they crawl into position, pierce the animal's skin with their mouths; squirt saliva to act as an anti-coagulant and firmly fix themselves with their backward-pointing barbs, that prevent easy removal. Once engorged with blood the tick will drop to the ground to continue its lifecycle that can take up to 3 years. Due to the slow, blood sucking nature of a tick, they are among the most efficient carriers of disease. The best way to protect your animals against tick-borne diseases is to avoid tick bites.

Removal of Ticks:
The removal of a tick can be very painful to the animal and can result in the mouthpiece being left behind under the skin and cause infection to set in. Tick Control can be sprayed directly onto a tick to help release it naturally and painlessly.

Regulations - HSE Licence: Tick Control is fully HSE Approved and Licensed (HSE 8713), in accordance with the Biocidal Products Directive, new regulations. These regulations require any product which holds itself out as any form of repellent to secure an approval and licence number from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). This approval requires the active ingredients (Ai) to be listed on the label together with the amount of Ai being used. Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

Prohibited Substances: Tick Control is FREE from all prohibited substances under current FEI & HRA Rules.
