Soft and durable, Equi-Chaps Stable Chaps to help keep legs warm, dry and protected in the stable. The chaps completely encase the lower leg to help protect from scuffs and grazes, extending over the coronet band and bulbs of the heel to help protect these vulnerable areas.
The Equi-Chaps® range is designed to provide a simple solution to improve the horse’s welfare throughout the winter months. Convenient and easy to use, the Stable Chaps are a great alternative to Stable bandages. They keep legs dry, warm and protected from scuffs and grazes from the knee/hock to the coronet band and bulbs of the heel. They are perfect for putting on wet and cold legs after exercise and turnout. They also have the same properties as stable bandages as they help keep joints warm as so maintain effective circulation which can help reduce filling in the legs and relieve symptoms of arthritis in afflicted horses. With simple touch and close straps, they are easy to fit and remove and far quicker to apply than stable bandages. Conventionally stable bandages with a liner are used to help keep horses legs warm and protected whilst in the stable. This can be a time consuming process and can risk different tensions on each leg. Equi-Chaps Stable Chaps help eliminate these problems as the secure touch and close straps make them quick and easy to fit. With excellent lower leg coverage, made from two fabrics with a soft quilted inner, they help to reduce the risk of uneven pressure around the leg. The inner liner is made from a soft fabric which is particularly useful when the horse has come in from the field cold and wet or after exercise. The outer fabric is smooth which helps to repel shavings, straw, dust and dirt and is easy to clean and wash. Equi-Chaps Close Contact Chaps Size Guide Getting the correct size is so important with chaps. If they are too big, they will slip down or allow mud to get under the chap, too small and stress will be exerted on the seams leading to splitting. Extra Small: Small Pony (12hh - 13.3hh).
