Correct feed and a disciplined management are vital if your horse or pony is prone to hoof discomfort and problems associated to Spring grass, but on their own they are not always enough.
Laminaze is a unique blend of naturally sourced antioxidants combined with key gut support, bio-available sulphur and targeted nutrients, in a palatable formula to maintain hoof health and improve his diet and lifestyle. Increasingly we hear the term ‘Insulin Resistant’ or ‘IR’ with respect to laminitics, characterised by signs such as a cresty neck or fat pads around the tail head. The IR individual may be genetically predisposed to be so, or an overweight horse may develop IR. Either way the advice is the same; exercise, good farriery and the right diet is key to success. Research now shows that a metabolic episode, evident as discomfort in the feet, is likely to be triggered by gut disruption. Supplementing with prebiotics (FOS & MOS) and live probiotics is recommended for promoting a stable, healthy gut environment. Naturally sourced antioxidants are present to flush out the build up of excess toxins from around the laminae.Where excess fat is seen, supplementing with bio-available magnesium is recommended. Whilst bio-available sulphur (MSM) is recommended for supporting healthy hoof growth and strong sulphur bonds within the laminae. Laminaze contains all the key nutrients for dietary support of the IR horse or pony and should be fed throughout the risk period as part of a high fibre, low concentrate diet. Care should be taken to particularly avoid non-structural carbohydrates (NSC) as found in lush, fresh grass and sweet concentrate feed.Manufacturer | NAF |
