What is Equest and what does it treat?
Equest is a moxidectin based wormer for the treatment and control of of adult and larval stages of important internal parasites including encysted and developing larval stages of small redworms, large redworms and bots in horses and ponies with a single dose. When administered at the recommended dosage level of 400mcg moxidectin per kg of bodyweight, Equest provides effective control of moxidectin sensitive strains of the following parasites: Large strongyles, small strongyles, encysted small strongyles, ascarids and bots. Equest has a persistent effect in preventing infection by small strongyles for 2 weeks after dosing and suppresses the presence of small strongyle eggs in the dung for 90 days.When should Equest be used?
Equest should be used in winter, alongside Equest Pramox in spring and autumn and worm counts over summer for all round internal parasite control in all types of horses and ponies, including pregnant and lactating mares, over the age of four months old.What is Equest Pramox and what does it treat?

Instructions for use | One 14.8g syringe contains sufficient gel to treat one 700kg horse. If your horse weighs more than this, a second syringe will be required. It is vital to accurately dose your horse, so use of a weigh tape is recommended. Once you have determined the weight of your horse, set the syringe to the correct graduation (each graduation treats 25kg) and administer to the back of the horse's mouth. The recommended dosing interval for Equest and Equest Pramox is 13 weeks. |
