Cavalor Gastro aid paste should be used before travel and during stressful situations which does not stop product of stomach acid, but aids protection of the digestive system.
Treatment of equine gastric ulcers involves either inhibiting gastric acid secretion, neutralising the acid produced or protecting the squamous mucus from exposure to acid.
Cavalor Gastro aid paste provides the nutritional tools to neutralise acid production and stimulate regeneration. It also protects the stomach mucus on different levels using different nutritional approaches (as most Cavalor products do).
It should be administered directly into the mouth. The product is ideal for horses suffering from poor appetite due to gastric irritation. If your horse is resistant to syringes then we suggest you choose the Powder or Liquid version.
Paste may be followed up by a course of Cavalor Gastro aid powder or they can continue to be used for a longer period (1 tube per day) as required.

A horse constantly produces stomach acid. This means that when the stomach is empty, the stomach acid irritates the stomach wall and causes sores or ulcers.
There are several ways to protect the stomach from this stomach acid. Ideally,
the horse has hay available throughout the day, and the hay’s fibres form a protective mat in the stomach that absorbs the acid and gives it no chance of harming the stomach wall.
In addition, the amount of sugar and starch in each meal
must be kept as low as possible because sugar and starch among other things increase acid production.
Feed management is an essential aspect in preventing stomach ulcers, but once stomach ulcers have been diagnosed there is a greater chance that they will come back sooner or later.
For this reason, it is recommended that horses susceptible to stomach ulcers receive daily support.
Cavalor Gastro Aid mainly consists of herbs that protect the stomach wall and help neutralise stomach acid. This in turn means that the stomach acd is much less likely to damage the stomach wall.
Also, Cavalor Gastro Aid provides faster healing if the stomach wall has already been damaged.

| Instructions for use | In the case of stomach ulcers, the paste is often used initially. In addition, the paste is more user-friendly during transport or competitions. Administer 2 syringes (120 g) per day for 6 days. Thereafter administer 1 syringe (60 g) per day for 6 days. Afterward continue to follow up with Gastro Aid Powder. In the most severe cases it may be necessary to double the duration of each phase of administration. If your horse is on Omeprazole then this should be slowly phased out. Unlike the drug Omeprazole, it does not stop the production of stomach acid. However, it does protect the stomach from damage caused by stomach acid. 4 Boxes will give you the initial course + 3 spare which may be used at times of particular stress, such as travelling. |
