Kelp/Seaweed is a popular supplement for horses, dogs and other animals. Ascophyllum nodosum contains generous levels of vitamins including A, B1, C, D and E. It is also rich in minerals calcium, potassium, zinc, iodine, magnesium, iron and copper as well as amino acids and trace elements. It contains high levels of calcium to help promote promote healthy skin, strong bones and teeth in both horses and dogs. Seaweed can also help strengthen depth of coat colour and support strong nervous system and healthy digestion. We always advise that if you have not used seaweed for your animals before you introduce it gradually building up to the full recommended amount over a period of several days as it has a strong flavour.

Instructions for use Guidelines:
Horses: 15 to 30 grams daily
Add to feed on a daily basis, if possible, splitting the required amount between two feeds
Allow up to one month for benefits to be seen

*please note: we do not include feeding instructions on the packaging or include a scoop in the bag or tub. This is due to the consistency of straight herbs eg roots are more dense than leaves or flowers, and they can be given to a variety of species. For further research on using straight herbs for animals there are some good books available including Hilary Self's "A Modern Horse Herbal".
